My question as well, if Toyota is prepared to scrap the parts inventory, you'd think they would offer heavily discounted prices to allow us owners to purchase the remaining inventory (keep happy Toyota customers) rather than sell the inventory at a scrap auction;-)

The bulky items like upholstery will be at 35% off. plus frt
I also think there is one tower s22

All the items specific to the boat I will be stocking. Those prices will go up to cover the warehousing cost.

Refer to the list I posted to see if you need anything.

I will support the parts, I decide what is being scrapped, but will be working on the details.

This does not sound good.

I bought parts at the end of December from Mr. Cohen and I have never gotten them. I have sent numerous emails to him and he doesn't response.

Now I just want my money back.

Sad to say but I believe we are on our own.

Thanks a lot Rick.

I ordered parts from Rick in Dec also.  He responded to one of my emails a couple weeks ago with a "be patient".  It's been over a month, but I know I can't get the thermostat housing anywhere else, so hopefully he'll come through and ship the stuff out ...

Doing my best to stay positive about the parts…  Seems like a silly move to scrap them all when so many people are willing to buy them, but when it comes down to forking out 1000's of dollars for parts you might never need - its a big "WHAT IF" investment.   Highly discount them before you scrap them if nothing else but for the PR that comes with it…   Heck, I'll write an op ed piece and send it to every boating magazine I subscribe too on Toyota's behalf.  Saying how grateful we are they stood behind their product with continued support.

I do know that frequent "parts aren't going to be around after X date" post on this forum have started to affect the value of the rare Toyota Epics.   If the one place any potential owner goes to is Epicmarine.com for research, then these boards are going to confirm any rumors or fears they have about future support…

Well I am as frustrated I keep waiting for the answer from Toyota but I don't get them so Customers like Hector have asked for there money back on there order. That fine I can't deliver on my word of a discount if the supplier doesn't. So until there is a agreement in place anything is possible. As far as specific items will be held that didn't happen there was enough exhaust manifolds for replacements but now they scrapped them down to 4 sets left. I will need to start taking them off complete engines to service the customers with bad manifolds.

Here are the facts: Toyota agreement was for 10 years to hold parts , after that they verbally agreed to keep the inventory but reduce none moving parts. They had a verbal agreement to continue as it was with additional scrapping. In December I was asked to make a final buy as they didn't want to handle the parts anymore. I contacted Toyota AND THEY AGREED TO THE purchase by me  and they would pay for shipping to Orlando. I would warehouse them and still support the 685 Boaters.

Then I was told since the agreement had expired they would not sell me the parts at the agreed price.

So I am waiting for the decision.

Where are they warehousing these parts?
I have high level contacts on the automotive side that I can contact to help get the parts moving again.
If you can get me specifics about who you are dealing with I will be glad to contact them.

Email sent ....

To whom it may concern :

I am the proud owner of a 1999 Toyota Epic 21 boat and it has come to my attention that Toyota is currently considering scrapping all parts on hand for the Epic boats.  My Epic 21 currently has 285 hours on the clock, is in great condition, and with the support of the Rick Cohn and the community at http://www.epicmarine.com I will be able to enjoy her for many years to come.  There are also close to 700 additional Toyota Epic boat owners that share the same interest.

Please do not scrap the remaining parts and send the remainder of the stock to Rick Cohn so we can continue to keep our boats operational for many seasons to come.  If it is not an option to keep all parts, the parts that are specific to our Toyota Epic boats are of crucial interest.  These include parts relating to the cooling system, exhaust manifolds, ECU, and any other parts that are custom to the marinized version of the 1UZ-FE engine.

Sincerely,

Toyota Epic 21 Owner
