2016 Southeastern Epic Roundup
« on: March 31, 2016, 18:38:48 pm »
Yes, yes, yes, it is too early for this topic. I am still waiting for the pollen to subside before I will even uncover my boat. However, just a little food for thought:

We had a few of these at Lake Hartwell and started to build up the number of attendees. Then I got lazy and Cyclone went MIA, not to mention Hartwell went down 24 feet during a drought, so we let it slide. Fortunately Cyclone returned to the foal and stepped right up to the plate with last year's Roundup at Lake Lanier. It attracted owners from an even wider geographical area. So now we have COMPETITION. Not really, I would prefer Cyclone to host but I have no way to get my boat to the event. The only vehicle I had with a hitch was stolen (I will save that story for the Roundup) unless I use my daughter's 2000 Rav4 with 140,000 miles - not happening. My trailer needs new tires and surely needs brake work considering I haven't used it since Breakaway dropped it off in 2005. Selfish and cheap are both words that come to mind...

Everyone start thinking 2016 Roundup. Is Lake Hartwell or Lake Lanier more convenient or equally convenient to those that will need to travel? I prefer weekdays as the water at Hartwell is virtually glassy then but I have a great boss - me. This is not an option for everyone. If a weekend, things do calm down considerably after the 4th of July holiday. Anyone have suggestions of things to do other than work on my sound system, not that there is anything wrong with drinking beer to the smell of roasting flesh! Cookout on an island? Poker run? Just tossing out some things to start the conversation. If we could get everyone that has attended a Roundup in the past and possibly a few new folks, this could be impressive.
Don't be so humble, you're not that great.
