I have not been wakeboarding behind my Epic for five weeks.  It is feeling lonely and neglected.

My boat is over 3 years old and I haven't changed the impeller... sniff, sniff.

Cal, what is the problem? Monday I was the only boat and trailer at Daroga. It was a little windy but died down for about a half hour and we got some great sets of WBing and skiing in. Yesterday, only two boats at Lincoln Rock. It was ssooo sweet. At LR a guy kept staring and finally came over and said "what the heck is that? That is the sweetest boat I've ever seen", he asked about where to get one and how much they ran and said he was going to get one.

My new ACME prop is cool! yesterday I was running 46mph at 5500 rpm. So pretty much in general RPM's are a few hundred higher at any speed level and it seems I have not lost any top end. I mean I was at 46-47 and still had some left. This is the ACME 11.5
Unfortunetly my rooster tail in the middle did not change much. So Imight try removing the wake plate next.

Jeff -- I might be headed your way this weekend. I haven't planned anything, but realized that I'm really missing being on the water.   I just started a thread on wakeworld, hoping to tag along with somebody going to Pateros... if that doesn't work, hopefully I can find somewhere on Entiat. Any ideas on available campsites?

As for the wakeplate -- don't do it.  Run with 1/4 tank of gas instead -- that should flatten the wake a bit.  Leave cans in the car for after you ski. If you remove the wakeplate, all it's gonna do is make the boat cavitate pretty badly with any weight at all (even if people are sitting in the back, most likely).  I do wish Toyota offered an adjustable wakeplate on our Epics, like Supra does on the Launch SSV.

Cal. You suck, dude. I was in Alaska, man, what was your excuse? Think you're in love with someone other than your X22.

But at least you're gonna try to get out this weekend, huh? Make sure you get some pictures.

Jeff,

46/47 is pretty good, especially if you weight the boat and have a nice holeshot.  Which prop do you run exactly?

Krej - I just changed to the Acme 543 11.5 pitch prop. I am trying to flatten the rooster/wake, because I am primarily a waterskier. But, becoming more of a Wakebord enthusiest daily. 35' off seems to work pretty good but anything longer - forget it, the rooster tail will launch ya. My RPM's are up like I say a few hundred and the engine revs higher (a real sweet purring mind you), and it seems I am getting the same top end.......weird huh? Everyone else has described the top dropping off a little with increased RPM's.

Cal - You could try Orondo River Park (private), a few miles south of Daroga 509-784-2556, they have tent on grass availability. Otherwise the State Parks - Daroga, Chelan falls........Let me know if your coming we'll set up a time to meet on the water.

Derek -- who you been talkin to?

Yeah, she might have something to do with it... ;)

Jeff -- if I head that way, I will surely give you a call. It looks like our plans have changed a little bit. We've decided that if we can get in at the Pateros Motor Inn (or tent it on their lawn), that will be our first choice...we love that place.  If that doesn't work out, we're gonna go camp in my new house in Yakima (it's officially mine now!), take the Sevylor's down the Yakima River, and hit up the Ellensburg rodeo.

But we'll hook up for sure. I think I'm gonna trailer the boat over to Yakima towards the end of the month -- then it's drysuit time on the river (or wherever) until ski season.  If not this weekend... sometime soon.

5 weeks?!?

LUH-HOO    ZUH-HER!    :P-Just kidding. Hopefully you at least keep her in the driveway to look at. I once went 6 weeks, but she was in for warranty work.

It was a looooong six weeks.

Summer's almost over man, better get on it while you can!

 ;)
