Thanks for the input. I'm not sure it does anything but confuse me more about what to do, but it is good to hear what you think.

I looked at those B52-V3s. They look (no sound) preety sweet (I actually don't like the graphics much). Unfortunately, the nearest dealer is in Sacramento. like 500 miles away. Don't they want to sell any boats. I'd have to hop a flight just to see one. I'll check wakeworld comments on em and see if it would be worth it.

As for the salvage. If you want it, call Scott at Progressive, His number is 435-986-0162. Better hurry though, its Progressive's baby now, and they want to move it.

You gonna do it? The whole thing for $6300?  That seems like a pretty good deal to me... but I know nothing.

Cal, by you saying that you know nothing, you're really proving that you know nothing. You're a stud, man, the VillageIdiot. Don't disrespect yourself like that or we'll have your a$$ kicked.

$6300 sounds like a lot of money to me, but maybe I was just being hopeful. I'm sure in the long run, a guy could get more than his money back even just parting it out. And with a little work, the thing might be repairable to point where it could be sold as a 'boat' instead of as a spare parts locker.

Bitz, very sorry to be talking about this in your thread. Proabably a lot like a dad listening to donor recipients fighting over his kids parts. Well, not really, but kinda, huh?

Got me thinking, though....

What are the odds that other Floridian Epics have become salvage material in the past couple months?

If it's a salvage boat it probably can't be registered anymore, same as as a salvage title on a car.  Anybody know?

Sorry to hear about the big sinking.  Thank god that eveyone is OK.

Stay with the Toyota.  I've thought many times about getting rid of my S22, and I keep coming back to the fact that I have a great boat that only a few of us lucky ones have.  I went to Shasta Lake last Ausust and saw all kinds of other Nautiques, Moomba's, Malibu's, Supra's, etc.  I did not see any other Toyota boats and had lots of people comment on my boat.  I kept hearing, "When did Toyota start building boats, or Why did you put those Toyota stickers on your boat,"  We have very unique boats.  I like having a RARE, very dependable, fuel efficient play toy.  I will NEVER sell my S22.

hey, its the brother in-law to bitzy.  It was a pretty freaky thing to watch.  I had one kid on board.  My heart goes out my bro, though, it would be like loosing a child.
I'm advising staying with the sx as well.  Won't ever have a chance to get another one that new, and the other everyday stuff isn't going anywhere (mastercraft, moomba, etc.) so you can still try it later.
I was going to throw a pic of my s22 up, but I just don't feel right about it with bitzco still in the mourning process.   I will post a happy reminder how things were.  This was the day before........

And a little while later. Did you notice the lights on in the last picture. It was her last gasp fer life. Long live the Lake Powell Frog Man. (By the way the Lake Powell Rangers were absolutely useless during this ordeal. The guys running the marina were great though.)

Drowning our sorrows later on. Also, helping the kids drown theirs. (Its actaully root beer, we thought we'd take a picture of us "trailer trash" since were were staying in the trailers at the Halls Crossing Marina. I'm the old, fat, bald one. You can see why I chose Bruce Willis. If only I had his cash. Jaminhdds is on my right. All of these guys deserve a real beer and a round of applause for helping rescue my wife, our kids and thier kids from the sinker. You guys rule.

Man, that is a pretty boat. At least you got a good pic of it the day before. I will put that pic somewhere on the site logo as a tribute. So sad to see it goin' down. If the title were clear, meaning I could put an engine in it and fix it, I would buy it. I'll call that guy today. That third picture is a hoot, I don't mean to make light of a sad occasion, but if you didn't know the circumstances or that it's IBC root beer, it would be pretty dang funny.

First problem with the new format, I need to jump to a new browser window for the forum. It resizes with big pics.

Man. Today's my off-Friday, and I woke up dreaming of driving my S22 up the waterfall at Havasu. Funny, there's not a waterfall there ???

That second pic is all-time, Bitz. All friggin time.

(Putting my NTSB hat on...) So, the SX didn't sink, but it was pretty close, huh? For some reason I thought a towboat would ride a little higher if swamped. Also wonder how much that tube might be contributing to bouyancy. Not sure where you could stuff morebouyancy, except by filling the gunnels with some removeable foam sheets (yuck).

Among other things, I'd really like to someday get ahold of the hull drawings. Where the voids are, where the stringers run, etc.

Do you guys have any idea how many pictures must have been taken during manufacture? Wouln't you like to see our Epics in various stages of assembly? Maybe we should beg one of our Toyota guys to get some stuff from Nichtern.??/

It's gone. Some company with a business name that had something to do with motorcycles in Ca. bought it.
