New Site Design- Photo upload site
« on: October 10, 2004, 18:33:57 pm »
Greetings. Lesman here. Pete was nice enough to let me take a stab at redesigning this website. I can tell you that Pete sure has speant a TON of time on this site! All I did was make it look  more purdy.

Everything should be integrated now and pretty easy to navigate.

THere is a new feature I added: the photo upload site. Click on the photos link on the left nav.  <--over there. and you can upload photos to any of the albums, or create your own user gallery. You'll have to create a username and password, but it's real easy. It automatically resizes them for ya, and has lots of other features.

Let me know what you think or if you have any problems.

Lesman-

looks eggz-ellant.  Same great content, but a cool look.  Well done!

Pete K (Cyclone)-

Thanks again for everything you have done to get this up and running and keeping it going--it has been invaluable to me(and many others)!

Chritmas in October. Not as good as my Angels and Dodgers moving into the second round, but...

THANK YOU BOTH !!!  The look and feel is much cooler, with the same GREAT content. Looking forward to checking out the photo launcher.

Still really want to get with the girls at work and put together a Flash movie of the map with links to all the Epicmariners (star's next to Atlanta, mouse over and Pete's name and model pops up, then click to view his profile and/or contact info, etc.). Also would be cool to show the five models and list/link to profiles of owners. You know, fluff stuff.

Also need to modify the S22 Tracking Fin pdf to reflect reality. So wish I woulda taken pictures...

Would also like to write an engine alignment procedure sometime.

GOOD JOB!

Thanks all. My small contribution.

C'mon folks, lets see some pictures! Do I have to create a "fluff" album?

:-* ::)
I'm starting to think the photo site does not work...

lesman01 - I loaded my pic's but didn't pay attention to the album dropdown, hence boat pic's in the boarding album.  I tried to correct but couldn't.  Maybe you could help this slow learner and move them to the right album for me.

Thanks.

Great re-design of the webpages!

SUre, i'll move em over. It takes a while to get use to it. Feel free to set up your own album, then you can edit and reclassify all you want. Those will be located unter the User Galleries Section.

TIP OF THE DAY:

Once you upload photos, you can send an ecard to your friends with links back to view all the photos. Just click on a thumbnail so you get the page with the filmstrip on it. Click on the little envelope icon at the top right next to the forward and back arrows. Then enter the email address you want to send to and voila!.

I tried to upload a .mov (cuz it's got my backroll attempt on it), a bitmap and a .jpeg. It looked like it would take a mov, but mine was a little big and I don't know how to edit it. Will play some more, promise. (And if you could raise the file size limit, it'd be cool ;-)

I like the idea of this feature... haven't tried to use it yet, but you can bet I will once I get high-speed i-net in my new house (a couple weeks away, unfortunately).  I especially like the one for random picks (PBR pickleball pics, anybody??).  Thanks for supercharging the site... (now get working on supercharging the boats)!   ;)

toyotafreak, you already should be able to add a 2meg file. Have not actually tried a .mov file, but i know wmv and avi work. It does not create a thumbnail for vids, it just uses the default thumbnail icon for the filetype

Now...post that HS backroll! Dooo it. Dooo it! (obscrure Starsky/Hutch reference)
