I am not trying to say that the guys that posted previous replies to this topic are wrong with their ideas or that I am right with mine.  I just wanted to get some input from you all since everyone is an epic owner.  I just wanted to see how you guys weighted your boat.  The previous owner of my boat has a kid who is in the boys divisions at most of the vans tour stops.  My previous description of the weight in the boat are what he used and said provided an excellent wake.  So I am not trying to be block headed for not weighting my boat the way previous guys said I should.  I just wanted to compare what you all did to weight your boat to what the previous owner of this boat did to weight this boat.  Thanks for your honesty and I hope I did not offend anyone by not using your weighting system.

mvermeer,

I don;t think it's a wrong or right thing, just people's experience. If you're like me, you'll have to do it your way until you see why that might not be the best way. that's how I learn, though...

For me, who has no factory ballist, I think i may actually get 2 fat sac cubes and weight the front with lead or sand. But, I may not.  ;)

Was that davidgree's boat?

Lesman, it's actually an aerator pump, and comes in a few flavors. The standard threaded one is a Model 205F, the cartridge version of that is the 205FC. Assuming the FC pumps as well as the F, I'll probably go with the FC in my ballast system simply because you can replace the motor without unhooking the whole deal.

Here's an FC: http://www.cgedwards.com/Rule/livewell.html and http://www.cyber-marine.com/bridges/69983.html

Here's an FAA (anti-airlock might be helpful):

And a 205F rigged for sacks, the Bump Pump 1100:

Lesman,
We should hook up some time and I'll show you the system in my boat. There are pics on the how to page of my install. I tried lots of stuff and went back to a very simple system with Rule pumps, no hassles since:)

As for weight, put a sack in the trunk, one in the walk through and go wakeboarding.

Fellas

I have found a guy who will sell me three new sacs for a relatively good price.  I now will have the capability to put 2380lbs in my boat.  I probably will not use it all, but having the capability is nice.  Thanks for all your input and help.  I hope others have benefited from this post as well.  Thanks again.

i use a 600lb in the locker, a 440lb on the back seat, and 500lb on each side of the engine.  no sack up front, but i do have alot of stereo weight up there.  i have done alot of playing around with sacs as well, and this is the best for us..

Here's my boat at my ideal... this is my x22 with the trunk ballast full and two side sacks, with about 5 people in the boat.  This shot is on the tiny Yakima River above a dam -- we were running in about 8' of water at this point.  This is also the widest it ever gets.   There are narrower spots where you can reach out and touch both banks.

Just to show off how narrow this river is... we're running down the middle of the river in this shot.  It was so narrow that on the upstream part of the river, we had to stop the boat to turn around and pick up the boarder heading the other way.
