any so-cal epics around?
« on: November 01, 2004, 23:17:17 pm »
going to go to lake perris this weekend since our home lake is closed now.  wondering if anyone wanted to meet up out there?  we would be going up friday night and be staying  in the campground, then launch around 7:00 or so in the morning.

A little too cold for me...  I'm a wimp with the cold.

What's your home lake, San Vincente?  I live in Corona and so does gr8dna.  You ever go to Vail lake?

Shawn, I'd love to go, but might have to work around Brandon's soccer and baseball games. We gave him his drysuit finally, so he's prbably anxiuos to check it out.

I'm in Orlando right now, but once again, did not schedule enough time here to go for a day to the Wakeboard Camp. Might not even get to ride at the cable park (wouldn't really know what to do there anywya except finally learn my ollie ones and half cabs.

san v is our home lake but it is closed on weekends now so we just go up to perris.  i thought vail lake is private, but we are always willing to try new spots.  i met a couple last summer up at perris that had a red epic, i believe an s22.  very nice people, perhaps they might have be one of you guys.

Not me, I;m not nice, just kidding.  I have a blue X22...  I take it to San Vincente once in a while, when they open it up.  Do you pay to use their WB area?  It's worth the money in my opinion, plus there's nice beaches there in the cove to the left.

Hope to see you there sometime.

PS - Yes, Vail is private, but not too expensive.  We popped for it this year to try it out....

Hey, the red S22 might be GP from Manhattan Beach. You can see his boat in the "Tower mounting for those without dealers" thread.

Hey, Brandon's soccer game is at 8AM Saturday, so if you're still coming, we could be out there by just after ten. Baseball's Sunday.

Let me know.

i saw that it might rain now so we are having second thoughts, but i will keep ya posted.

we hit san v every sat  and sun. from sun-up to sun-down.  we always get the 6-10 in the wb area and the 10-2 in the slalom area, and also try to get the 2-6 in the slalom area.  we have met alot of great people at san v, so we all work together to get these passes.

gr8dna: NO CABLE PARK!!!  Say it aint so.  If your there you better go!  It is grrrreat!  Takes a bit of getting used to, but WELL worth the trip.  It is a bit hard to find with all the street signs blown down but it is right off the 528 so its a short trip from anywhere there.

krejciman: how is vail, I have a friend with a pass up there and says it is great, but I haven't been

and if any of you guys are out at San V anytime soon I'd love to ride behind a Toyota sometime.  Our shop is only a few minutes away and we test boats there all there time.  I'm good for gas $$$, clean-up, advice on butter slides, and possibly some rum :)

Yes, did the cable park last night for about 2.5 hours. Hit a few kickers and the box slider. Lots of fun there. We so need one in SoCal. The footprint need not be too big.

Dock starts will be easy now. Cable parks are like zero to 22 in two seconds.

Roger on the Perris thing. When I saw the weather coming in I thought, "cool - no crowds." Keep me posted.

Vail is very nice....  it's about 2/3 the size of Perris or San Vincente.  The water is pretty clean and usually in the mid-70's during the summer.  There are usually about 12-15 boats there on a busy weekend day.  There are nice beaches with no facilities besides a porta-potty at the launch ramp.  Speaking of the launch ramp....  the water was down about 15-20 feet from normal whcih makes the launch ramp kinda crappy.  That's the only draw-back.

It costs about $1200 a year, and you can ski 365 days a year if you choose.  Oh yeah, like SV, NO Jet Skis !

Cool, I'll have to make it up to Vail sometime then.  And I've got a grrrrreat idea for a cable park in SoCal but, I have many ideas that I'll just have put on the back burner until we have this New Epic up and running in the hands of the masses  ;D

Shawn, Saturday was beautiful. Warm with a hot sun and clear skies. Chillest.

i know, it was very nice.  i was looking at my trailer in the garage on thursday and noticed i cracked a leaf spring, so needless to say, that was my project for the weekend.  Let's try again in a few weeks, perhaps the 19th.

You guys in Socal are so tight, I'm a thinkin that we oughta have a national convention out there. I'll tow my boat there, if there is a cool place where we can all camp and hang out.
