I added the stereo last week.  I know it isn't on one of the namesake Toyotas, but thought I'd share anyways.  THe JL 10" subs under the steering wheel pound.  And if u ever get the chance to add some NVS speakers, you won't be dissappointed.  They will knock you off the swim deck.

Yeah that looks Awesome- I am sure it sounds great too. Straight from a "Pimp My Boat" reality series...  It could happen (or has it already happened?)  American Idol, American Inventor, & "American Boater" - haha It could happen... someone should "pitch" it the a tv network...

That is a bad beotch, completely devoid of gay wrassler styling. Bet it sounds as good as it looks. You can count on a notch in your next hearing test around 4khz with those NVS, they git 'er done.

OK Fest, you are starting to remind me of Breakawaydaze. Your boat is drop dead georgeous, you could probably eat off the bilge floor and you can turn a brain into mush with your sound BUT have you taken it out on the water yet??? The masses want a full report on the experience. Perhaps some of us are also looking for an insider trading opportunity - a chance to purchase Chevron stock that day!!! Seriously, it looks like it will be an entirely different ride with the size difference, etc.
Don't be so humble, you're not that great.

Crud, I just noticed this was the stereo thread. I thought it was the " I MAY possibly think about selling my Epic, perhaps" thread. That would be the place to post your thoughts about your "first time".

I normally don't talk about my "first time" with strangers, but if you insist.
It was a cold winter night.  I bribed my roommate with pizza to get lost and brought my young diva into the dorm room.  We were both pretty nervous...being the first time and all, but that only added to the anxious wanting....
Oh, you mean with the 247?  Ok, but you'll have to flip over to that thread- the "selling s22...Maybe one."

Cal,

I am looking to buy an Optima battery for my 01' X-22.  What exact battery do you have in your X-22?  It sounds as though yours fits perfect.  Thanks.

SSSSoooo, since I sold my first Epic :(( I now get to play with my second.

For a summer stop gap instant fun thing I put in two of my Ebay amps. I stuck them on the aft bulkhead in the forward port storage area. It is a much taller and longer wall than on a D drive. I had to swap out three amps until I got two that worked. Same footprint and wiring so it took five minutes. I love Ebay. I'll get them all fixed for spares. I wanted to do something quick, it is not at all creative but the amps are there. One 600 watt RMS @ 2 ohm on the tower box, it will run at 4 ohm for 300 clean ass old school US made watts. 4 x Polk Momo 6x9's on the tower. The amps fit perfectly and

I have its little brother, a 300 watt Planet Audio (Zed Audio) @ 2 ohms on a JL W3 10" in a sealed enclosure @ 2 ohms. It sounds pretty good, couldn't crank it tonight. I have another US made Planet Audio Class D amp (1250 watts at 1 ohm) for a 12W6 when I figure where to put it. There ain't much space under the dash, I'm thinkin' in the rear storage, I have the 10 on the port side up against the back seat. The box doesn't take much away from the side storage, 12" would be no problema with a slick enclosure. Maybe on the starboard side? Gotta hava nother sub. Long run, prolly 2 12's on the same amp.

I had to add the Planet Audio 6 channel preamp and the EpicMarine audio control I made because I couldn't find long enough RCA's. I found a two pair (four conductor) 5Msingle cable for 50$ at Fryes. I cut it up to work with the amp locations, it was too short to go around the perimeter of the bow. I ran it around the inside perimeter of the walk through and tossed (yeah) the preamp  into the dark, cavernous area between the back of the heater/footpanel assy and the panel that closes the starboard underseat forward storage. The gas line and bilge/ballast and steering cables pass through here. It's carpeted in there and semi dry, and the thing has feet on it, so it should work for a while:)

I stuck the three knob control thing under the head unit on the bottom of the dash with that wunnerful 3M trim adhesive double stick tape. It'll be cool to have boat tower sub control of the audio again. I'm so cheap I even pulled the same tower speaker wire back through the tower again to the new cheap ass ebay amps. Pics to come tomorrow, big boat day.;)
