getting further off the original thread...

I live outside Salem, Or., and have had my 01 S22 since 07/00.  I have been at Shasta Lake 3 times, Lake roosevelt twice, Willamette and Columbia Rivers numerous times, and a few of the Lakes within 150 miles of Salem.  NOT ONCE have I seen another Epic of any shape or form.  Everyone who sees my boat asks me why I put the Toyota stickers on it.  Some just shake their head and say ya, whatever in disbelief.  I LOVE IT, and tell them I even put stickers on that slick Lexus motor.

On another note , anyone know how many Epics were made, total.  And how many S22's were made.

On a final note,  I love my friggin boat and this website.

My recollection from a coversation with a former TMS guy was the total number was under 500.

The note about Krejci's warehouse visit - that is the only TOYOTA marine warehouse. Each of the dealers may or may not carry stock as well (there have been rumors that both Seattle and Atlanta dealers have stock they want to move), but they are not TOYOTA and probably aren't huge stockpiles.

Thanks for the welcomes guys, this site has already helped me out alot.  As for storing your boat in Kenmore, where? Cap Sante or Harbor Village?  I used to be in Harbor Village forever, I mean like 10 years before I got my Epic.  Still running my 87 Welcraft Sarab 1 O/B.  Man, does she fly across the water.  Trim it up, and your gone.  Sorry, reality check.  I think I will go and get a set of those airlift bags.  I found a site online that has an install guide from the manuf.  for TrailBlazers.  I think they cost about $100 plus the compressor/guage system for about 100-150?  I think it will help me towing to Coeur D Alene every summer and back when the TB is loaded with stuff in the back.  I noticed it tends to sag ever so slightly.

On another note, everywhere I go boat "freaks" ask "whoa, you got a Toyota?!!!  I heard they made a few and then shut everything down!"  My new neighbor in CDA came skiing with me once and said, man I have seen your boat parked there every year for the month of August and I can never seem to meet up with you, so I gotta see the power.  ...2min later...drooling...5min later..."can I hear it start with the cover up?"  Sure, crank it, vroom.  "Dammmnnn, thats sweeeeeeeeeet!!!!!"

I love the power and smoothness of this engine.  I think it will outrun my buddies 97 MasterCraft 205 with the Vette Engine.  That engine is powerful, but I remember it being rougher than my Lexus engine.

I'm at Cap Sante in Kenmore. They have both a dry dock system and water moorage. I've gone with the dry storage for the past couple of years as it keeps the growth off the bottom. A little pricey though!

I have had my Epic on a 14,000 acre lake within 2.5 hours of Washington CD for seven summers.  I have never seen another Toyota on the lake, though there was a dealer in nearby Richmond (1 hour) very briefly.  Someone told me there are only 7 registered in VA.  My impression is that most of them were sold in FL, NY, CO, and NoCA.

I bought mine at ski-masters in Kenmore WA, they still have two brand new ones, an x and an sx.  I board on the wilamette, columbia, snake, chelan (this weekend) and all over western WA and have never seen an Epic outside of the ski masters dealership.  Last I was there there was a trashed purple and white SX that made me want to cry being serviced.

Yea, Ski Masters wants 40k for an 02 X22 and 45k for a 01 SX!!! I think I paid a lot less than that in 00 for my E22, and these are their ski school boats with 150hours on the X22.  I used to always have my boat service at Ski Masters, but I can do it myself for a lot less and just a few hours.  It took me less than 30min to summerize it, all I had to do was put plugs in and check everything.  Oh, the cold water for the shower was a little loose, so I glued it in, but thats it!! Runs like a champ!  Unfortunately, this weekend or the 16th its time to say bye bye for skiing for the summer.

if you're interested in the Ski School boat at Ski-Masters...Call Mike over there...

I think he'll take GOOD care of you with a hot price on the boat...I think he'll go as low as 30K now.

Good luck, he is a total tool.  I tried to buy their x22 and he tried convincing me it was still a new boat despite its 170 hours.  Very inflexible and that was just a month ago.  In the end he told me the owner does not care if the x22 sells because it is a good ski school boat.

Yea, my Dad knows Mark, the owner, well, not great, but he know him.  I'm on the phone with them right now, trying to buy an impeller and a fuel filter, as West Marine didnt have them.  Im leaving this time tomorrow, so I need the parts today!! I guess it is going to be a trip to Ski Masters now!

That's too much, but with a full 3 yr warrantee that is something to think about. That is, if it has that kind of warrantee.

There are plenty of others around with fewer hours for a lot less. Cared for boats, not ski skool boats.

I have nothing against Ski Masters, the guy I talked to was pretty straight up. They are in the boat sales business and they realize how cool these boats are so they are willing to wait for top dollar. For parts too. Fair enough. More than I'd pay but someone else may be willing. It is still a lot of boat for the money.
