H20proof, you are definitely new to the site. If you had been here a while you wouldn't have to ask if it is the boat or just me. It is always just me. I have no skills. I surfed briefly behind an 04 Tige and couldn't throw the rope in there either. This all happened the same weekend and none of us had ever tried surfing before. I'm gonna give it another good try.

I don't think it's a boat problem.  :) Last weekend I was able to surf behind my E21 with 3 guys in the back, 1/2 tank of gas and no additional ballast. In that setup, everything (speed, water, turn, placement) has to be better than perfect. I'm right up to the swim step and occasionally put my hand in the water as a brake so I don't run into the back of the boat. I can only imagine it getting a lot easier with more weight.

Someone once told me that if you ride in shallower water you'll get a bigger wake because the water under the boat has less room to displace.

Epic Toy;  That's true about the shallow water....but, it would take some really shallow water for you to feel the effects, shallower than anyone should ever take their boat.  Do you ride toeside or heelside towards the wake?  I ride bassackwards than most people.  I ride on the drivers side of the boat, but heelside towards the wake.  It's how I had to learn because my previous boat threw a bigger wake on that side.  Anyway, if I need to slow down I just lean all my weight on my back foot....but, just for an instant because as soon as you start slowing down you have to be leaning forward to catch enough speed to keep on the wave.  Man, just talking about it makes me want to go right now.
Anyone with an inboard in the North Idaho / Spokane area that doesn't mind 45 degree water?

Bitzco;  keep trying....it'll blow your mind when you finally get the hang of it.

The only thing you can never duplicate is the SOUND - put about 200 bikes together (some of the rallies) and it is deafening but out of this world!!

Wreck, you are right about that!? We had the 100th Anniversary Harley ride to Milwaukee in '03.? 150,000 people rode their bikes to town.? At 3:00am, I went out in our back yard and it sounded like the Indy 500.? In '98, at the 95th Anniversary Ride, they shut down the Interstate from the Illinois line to Milwaukee for the Harley parade.? Three lanes across with nothing but bikes for 40 miles.? I was driving to Illinois and couldn't belive how many bikes there were.

So after complaining about my fat sacs (you'll have to read the post from the beginning to get back on track) I filled both of mine today.  One in the rear storage and one in the bow.  It made a nice difference, but was still a pain to fill.
I like the satellite radio idea.  I have been listening to MP3 discs, but they get old, even with 100 songs on them.
My kids also discovered knee boarding today on my brother's boat, so it looks like there is another purchase in my future...
