Thanks for the advice. I had planned to replace the battery, so I'll check out the bilge pump when I pull it.

Don't forget that replacing anything on anything is usally an upgrade opportunity. I've considered adding a second bilge pump, and also might consider just replacing the 500 with an 1100 should the opportunity present itself. The latter would probably be super simple, and we all know that a Rule 1100 can move some water.

Roger that! Basically, it'd buy you time if you ripped running gear off or even just lost a through-hull fitting. Funny thing last year I went from 25 to zero in a few seconds by dragging to a stop on a sand bar. Sucked big time, but no leaks, no vibrations, no visible problems at all with that stainless prop. Lucked out, I reckon. At least I was stone cold sober - stupid, perhaps, but sober.
