The boat has a massive trunk Put a big sack in there, that's what the factory did. Then, put a sack in the walk through. Good 2 go. Big ass wake. It is rampy with a nice long transition and a nice peak. I like it as much as any boat I've ridden behind. More than the Nautiques, I like the longer transition. I don't want to go straight up. It's easier on the knees and there's less learning curve if you have a nice ramp with a kick at the top instead of a 1/4 pipe.
There's a pic of Darin Shapiro in the pix section of the site behind a red X22 (same boat as an E22) that shows the wake well. The wake is cupped, there is a definite sweet spot that is about 75 ft back. I don't pop well and have had four knee reconstructions, so I would rather land in the transition or even the flats than case the wake. I ride five feet in.
The boat can't really handle more than 2k in extra water weight, but what boat of it's size and vintage can? None with a base engine. I run about 1500 to 1800, depending on how big I stretch the Skylon locker sack in the trunk. I've had it pushing against the lid:) It has more balls than my pals 89 Nautique 2001 with the same weight in it.
As for electronics, these boats use exactly the same electronics as Malibu and MC did in those years. Their MMDC (gauge computer) would probably work just as well, with the exception of the tach signal, which would read 1/2 actual. Toyota uses 2 pulses per revolution, the rest of the world uses 4.
If you search, you'll find some simple, chronic, gauge related issues. If you search the Malibu site, you will find THE SAME ISSUES:)
The other thing is plugs. Replace them every 400 hrs with Densos, good to go. I buy mine at the Toyota dealer, you oughta see the looks on their faces when I tell them it's for a Toyota BOAT. I'm gonna tow it up there next time.....
