Awesome to meet you to Javman.  I love seein the kiddo's diggin the sport!  I don't have a big bag of tricks but ya, I had to hold back most of them due to that ocean water we had ;)  Maybe next time you'll be down here and we can tear it up and I'll give lessons.

That's the exact same prop I ordered, can't wait to put it on and try it out.  It's the same one I put on my X22 and it was a able to handle a LOT of ballast.

Brent, Javman, if you ever run out of important things to do and are looking for some anal-retentive, I-shoulda-been-a-baseball-fan-cuz-I'm-infatuated-with-stats type info....I'd love to see you take a GPS out on the lake and measure RPM and speed at 500 rpm intervals. I did that once, and so we've got an S22 reading with a 4-blade stainless OJ. I'll make you a deal - if you do this with yours, I'll throw my stock 13x13 NiBrAl OJ and retest. Man, that's be a ton of worthless info, but it'd make a great Excel chart :-)

Seriously, it'd be nice to know what your RPM is at a true 22 mph while the boat's empty along with how many RPMs and MPH your wide-open-throttle's at (for reference only).

Brent, what prop did Fest have on her?

I will try and test my boat in  about a week with a GPS  and figure out the rpm thing.
Max speed last summer with the acme was 37mph (I think) and that was the same as fest's oops now blindsides S-22 with the OJ 4 blade. I am not sure what the RPM's were.  I also have the OJ 3 blade 13x13.
I would love to find out what others are running as well.  Here in colorado the guys at the boat shop say that altitude plays a factor but I am not sure how.

Sophin brought his camera so I'll postem up when he sends em to me.  The wake  was AWESOME.  I rode two of the best sets of my life.  I threw down everything I know and ran 2 stand up runs.

GPS Readings with acme 525 prop (13x11.5 1 1/8 lh)

The gps reading with no ballast and 5 adults and 3350 rpm was 22.5.  With 1800 lbs ballast and 5 adults at 22.5 was 3500 rpm.  The top speed unballasted was 40.5 at 5200 rpm

Weather permitting this upcoming weekend I will try and get my boat with the GPS out.
I am interested in comparing it to yours.  My theory is that altitude will make me a little slower.
Thanks for giving me some comparison data.

Thanks for the info, B-side. 1800 plus five is actually a pretty good amount of weight in there. I think the unballsted RPM is maybe 300 higher than mine? I'll check next time. With full fuel and just me in the boat, I was at 24 mph at 3,000 rpm. Makes sense that with a little more weight in the boat, my 13x13 4-blade stainless might be at 3K and 22 mph. So you've got AROUND 300 more rpms going - that's gotta help in terms of speed holding. My WOT was 5780 rpm and 42.8.

No Problem.  And top speed probably would have been higher but water was getting rough and didn't let it continue the speed increase for very long.  Plus one of the 5 adults was 300+ lbs.  So like having 6 ;)

the best kind of friend.  Sometimes, if you're lucky, the biggen's don't board at all.  They just like to ride around and hang out.  You don't use any extra fuel on them, and they provide easily relocatable ballast.  It's like a true symbiotic friendship.
