What do you guys think about this repo on Ebay?  What would it really take to get it in good shape, or should it be avoided altogether?

Metts Re: Repo Epic??? - Check out this thread,

I have a risk management background, thus I don't like "projects" with an unknown story - to many potential variables out of my control

Who knows what it would take, maybe a $1000 to redo the vinyl and $150 (repair)-400 (new) for a prop, that would be the start

Maybe $1000+ for a new dash/guages, maybe the engine will have issues from being ill-maintained, the trans too - who knows?

Could be near perfect for around $1500 (a diamond in the rough) or could turn into a nasty money pit if has been abused or ill-maintained.

If they can't afford the payment on the boat do you think they were taking care of it the way most of us take care of our TOYs?

If you have the time and the money and a LOT of patience it may be the right thing for you but I know I'm not touching it unless I could get it REAL cheap.

Looks like they're serious about selling it since it's a no-reserve auction. I placed a high-15's bid on it when it was first on eBay...I bet it goes for less than that this time around

If it can be had for $16K or less it would be a relative deal for someone with the time.

Even after doing some work you would have a pretty nice boat for under $20 provided none of the mechanicals have permanant issues.
