Couldn't find the hard tanks for sale in the tms parts section. Could someone direct me to the right location. Thanks a lot.

Sacks on the floor are inevitable, unless you run like me with never less than a full crew.  When we don't have a full crew, usually I put side sacks on either side of the engine compartment and put 2-3 people in the bow to balance the weight.  I've thought about trying to plumb something into the floor or under the front seats and there's just not enough room. For all the work, you might get 150-200 lbs if you did both under the floor and under the seats.

Me, I've got a ripped sack in the back from my 4th of July trip.  I'm hoping it's just the fitting where the hose enters the sack, but haven't gotten inside there to check it out because I'm sick... it's killing me.  If the sack is torn, I'm going to get the Fluid Concepts 1000-pounder and just keep loading more people up front.

Vidiot- I think fluid concepts makes pretty nice stuff but you may want to consider looking at the sack Barefoot International makes.  The Fly High Pro X bags are the best quality I have ever seen.  I agree with you though.  Something bigger that the 580 lb stock bag in the trunk should be nice.  Make everybody ride in the bow or put another sack in the walkway.  Thats what I am planning on too.

Snowrider- I never could find the hard tanks in a picture / drawing.  What I did is use the search menu and put in ballast.  Read down through the listed results and you will see the tanks.  They are definitly on there and available.

Anyone have a link to the fluid concepts site.  I wanted to get my hands on a 1000lber also...but  can't find the site.

I was thinking about putting that integrated bow sack that bearfoot international makes in the front, under the seats to balance it all out.  Anyone used one of these before??  http://home.comcast.net/~lreinsma/

Fluid concepts does not make ballast bags anymore. They were top quality, but pricey.
IMHO the integrated bow sac will not work well on the DD or the VD. there is just not enough room under the seats compared to other boats. on a good day you might get 150 to 200 pounds under there. OK maybe a real good day. Try lead.

I agree.  You can get one of those bow sacks up in there but I am not sure how much water you will get in it. There is not alot of room up there.  I was going to have two custom sacks made to fit under the bow seats.  After doing the math on how much weight I was going to end up with I backed off.  Only way to get much up there is to make them long, come down under the dash and into the storage locker a bit.  I just wasnt in love with that idea either.  I am leaning toward a big sack in the trunk and a another big one in the walk way.

When I was putting together that spreadsheet, I played around with a setup wherein there were custom bags under the bow seats and in that forward part of the walkway and then a six-inch tall triangle-type sack that would replace all the bow cushions and cover that forward part of the walkway too. Calculated 155 lbs, 150 lbs and 200 lbs for a total of 505 lbs way forward.

It'd be really easy to get 500 pounds of steel hidden away under there.

It'd also be cool to use just the walkway bag and the seat replacement bag without using the under-seat bag (could leave a moderate amount of metal ballast under there). Only catch there is that the holes under the seats would have to be filled with something or else the seat replacement bag would sink into the hole. I think that's why I figured it'd be best to leave the under-seat bags in. Another option would be to cut some plastic sheet to physically cover the holes.

Not sure I like any of this, but the point was to get the much needed bow weight in there with the least impact on seating and access to storage (the cubby).

Anyone still make a 1k bag??

Cyclone, your 750 bag just sits in the walk through??

Extruop - just wondering if you have a picture of your custom cover bimini/shade opened and in use.  I've seen that same style on a centurion enzo tower but wondered how it looked on your Epic.

Sorry I didn't ask for this before you sold it.  I might have to get the new owner to take a picture.

Thanks,

Brad

Sorry, I don't have any pics of the Custom Covers over the tower bimini.  Give them a call.  I would bet he has some photos.  I was very happy with it.  The quality was exceptional.  Price was a bit high but I didn't regret it once I had it.

Brad,

I am the one who bought Extruop's X22.  You asked for a pic of the bimini which I am attaching here.  The bimini is well made and provides a ton of shade.  It is up and out of the way yet does not interfere with the rope off the tower.

The boat has been great.
