That's funny... I have been the same way.  I get depressed thinking how much money I have spent on my boat in the past few weeks.  But I'm proud to say that i'm among the few that have already been on the water -- we had a brief warm spell in WA last weekend and I touched it in on Saturday for about an hour.  Just long enough to make sure the stereo works, mount the mirror arm, and drink a beer.  It was nice...

About the tower arm, it was a very good deal but I was not impressed with the finish quality on the arm, the communication from the seller, or the fact that it took 16 days to arrive.  Originally I guessed it was a Boss knockoff since the ebay auction didn't promote the brand very hard, though the box was wrapped in Boss tape.  My guess is these were factory seconds and thirds that they couldn't sell for full price and dumped them for DIRT CHEAP on ebay.  That being said, it was less than $100.  I'M STOKED.  I mounted it on the same cross bar as the racks (the same as everybody else that has this one), and it does sit close to the face but not bad.  Definitely a huge improvement over the windshield mounted mirror.

I tried mounting on the vertical brackets, but our towers have so much angle that the mirror sits crooked unfortunately.  So if you are like me and thought that it would mount well on the vertical arm, think again.  But it looks way better than I thought.  Will take pics next time I'm out.

In my excited rush to put my mirror on, I attempted to mount it to the vertical arm also.  All this got me was a crooked mirror and some scratches on the tower once I removed it.  I then mounted the mirror to the cross beam, like everyone else, and was able to get it set up nicely.  I agree that the mirrors are not the nicest on the market, but he sold it to me for $70 bucks and I was down with that.  It cleaned up nice and is much nicer than the monster that was mounted to my window.
If the mirror would rotate clockwise/counterclockwise, the vertical arm would have worked nice though.

Soft Scrub or Gel Gloss (Home depot) to remove bugs/scratches from your white tower, white Krylon epoxy appliance paint for scratches. It works embarrasingly well. I feel guilty for not getting my tower repowdercoated, but the marks don't show if you touch them up.

I did the epoxy paint once to touch up some scratches and it did work nice.  I just wish I had the motiviation to take my tower off and get it powder-coated.  I think I will do that eventually...maybe powder coat chrome (kind of has that brushed aluminum look). Its mostly the routing of the speaker wires I don't want to deal with, that and I don't know any good places in the San Antonio area.  Thanks for the tips.

I just bought 2 sets of wakeboard racks from the same guy who makes/sells the boss mirrors.  It was a pretty stellar price!!  $77/side!  Thats the best price I have seen for polished aluminum wakeboard racks, with rubber inlays and bungees.  Here is the link on ebay if you are interested.
