Tower-mounted rearview mirror
« on: February 19, 2007, 19:18:56 pm »
Can you still fold the tower with a tower-mounted mirror installed?  And does anybody know what kind will fit the 1 5/8" tubing on our towers?

I have a Boss one. I put it on the same crossbar as the rack. It puts the mirror up a little closer, which I totally like. You can see so much more in the mirror.

Here's the whole thing, buy it now for 79$ Mirror included! Any size from 1.5 in up. I paid 200$ for the same thing:(

I picked one up off ebay from boss and mounted it on the middle cross bar where most people have their racks.

I have the Mako Adjustable Mirror.

I usually take the arm-mirror off when I travel or store (loosen two allen bolts and it slides out).  I leave the bracket on the tower.

I have the dbot5 tower mirror. www.dbot5.com  The clamps are adjustable to any size tower, or pretty much any size and the mirror attachement is removable for storage and trailering etc. Works great!

This is the perfect thread.  Quick responses with some excellent options.  I have the windshield mount mirror and hate that it blocks a lot of my forward view.  Thanks to this great thread, I just bought the mirror Pete suggested.  Thanks again Pete.

You all will like your mirrors mounted up there. Mine is just above the windshield so I use it to block the sun while still being able to see out the windshield.

Plus, it's nice being able to put the cover on without taking the mirror off every time.

Just got my mirror and I have to say it is pretty sweet for $70.  It was pretty dirty when it showed up but some Eagle1 made that baby gleam!  I mounted my mirror on the cross beam where my racks are at, kind of pointing up ~45 degrees then bent the elbow down and mounted the mirror on upside down so it would be just a little bit lower.  It does sit a bit closer to the driver but the forward vis is great now.  I did try to mount it initially on the front tower pylon but I couldn't get the mirror to sit straight with it there.  Anyhow, I will try to post some pix of my new addition soon.  Thanks again for the heads up on this product.

Just so everyone realizes Flyn's level of OCD.  Flyn got his mirror at 3:45 PM after picking-up his daughter, and was on his way to the lake (boats are kept in storage at the lake) by 3:48.  This includes time to notify me, clean the hardware, and change his daughter's diaper.  Flyn's wife is out of town and I think he has spent more time with his boat than his daughter.  I think we need to get out on the lake this weekend or Flyn may not make it!

I must say that I am very much ready to hit the lake.  Tex is down for this weekends boating events as well K-town, given that we are not to hung over from the solo party at his house friday.  Also, just so everyone knows K-towns obsession...by the time he is done buying everything for his boat (which his wife will agree has been a small fortune), it will be the first ever fully restored SX (he wants to make it a 2007 model).  Holla!
