Timing belt replacement info needed

I really appreciate everyone's help on this. Although i didn't replace the timing belt last year, i'm definately pulling the cover off this year. I was walking on egg shells with it last year, even though we only took it out 4-5 times.

I assume i remove the right cover in the front area of the motor, near the serpintine drive belt. Correct?

I usually stick with Toyota parts on all my stuff, and i assume it's the best way to go here?

You are still very low hours, I had 800+ on my '00 epic 22. You are probably safe until you take it in. With a D drive, it may be cheaper than a V due to access. In either case, I'd remove all cushions and access plates, tape off carpet with brown paper, etc. People not used to working on boats (experts on our engine) can make a mess of things

I just got done talking with my mechanic on the situation, and he thinks i could go another year then inspect the belt. With such low hours, he's thinking i should be fine. While he didn't want to take responsibility if it DID happen to fail, he thinks i'd be fine.
He said you should NOT determine the visual inspection to be gospel on these things, as far as getting a timeframe for replacement. He's taken them off Toyota vehicles at 90k, and they've looked brand new. Then on the 120k vehicles, they were pretty much toast.
Yeah, he did say that he'd rather not do it, and i should take it to his friend who works on boats; not vehicles. He's worried about how messy it could get.

What do you all think i should do?

Should i take his advice, or get it done?

its far from being messy. probably the easiest one ive ever did. its pretty simple and straight forward. hardest part id say is pulling the harmonic balancer.
