Hey Phil,
Glad to hear that there are a few of them out there, and that you were lucky enough to get one. Whatever the real story is. I'd really like to know how many of the 2002 boats were actually made. I've seen a 2002 SX in the flesh, but not up close.

You have to post whatever you've got, I'd like to get hi res via email, but in the mean time, post some pics. Click the Additional Options at the bottom left of the reply screen.
I know we'd all like to see the promo video!! Any chance you could convert it to an mpeg or DVD?

Glad to have you on the board, looking forward to seeing pics and hope you participate in the Epic community.

Pete:

In looking at the HIN (TMME2015H102) it looks like my 2002 SX was built in August 2001 and was the 15th off the assembly line.

If you are interested in certain photo's, let me know.

well, YEAH. I'll bet that August production was in the new factory that had the ribbon cutting a few weeks earlier. There must be differences between how the boats were constructed from one factory to the next. Probably for the better, knowing Toyota.

All of this leads into one topic....

I'm gonna start a Toyota Epic Boat Registry. They only made something like 470 of these boats. Shouldn't be too hard to track them.

I think these boats are cool and will retain their value. It will be interesting to see if they become collectors items.

Pete, you're a bad ass.

I for one would love to know some specifics about the powered hatch. If you could get some pictures of the actuator, any part numbers/manufacturer information, your happiness with it, etc.

That's for starters ;-)

Hmm, I've received home phone calls about that boat, it looks like it is everything that is advertised, it is on Ebay too. Somebody said that the pics showed ballast controls, can anyone corroborate that?

Just looked at the photos. It definitely doesn't have the same ballast controls as an SX. My bet is no ballast. My old crew is available to be ballast though if anyone wants to take them out.

Does your ex-crew bring their own food, or do we have to supply?

You have to supply the munchies, but the good thing is, they'll eat anything.

 8) Thanks y'all, it all makes so much more sense to me now. I have in fact seen
a photo on this site of an Epic SX with a whole different color scheme inside.
Thought about using that color scheme when we re-upholster ours.

-Yeah, we're re-upholstering ours because we decided that only retards sell their
Toyota boat. We were the only ones in Austin with an Epic (from what I've heard).
I would kill over if I ever saw someone else driving our boat. Kind of like seeing your
ex with someone else....

Anyways, it's great to be back on the message board! We've been in FL for 5
months and already decided to move back to Austin and NOT sell the boat.

I think I'm tri-polar.

I think you're tri-polar too.  But I'm glad you guys came to your senses. ;) Especially after the rumors that are starting up about gas price hikes again this summer.  Imagine how much you spent on gas each time you were out last year -- then triple it.  That's what the rest are paying!!  Sucks to be them...so glad to be in a yota.

Those are the two main things that keep me in my Toyota, fuel costs and the fact that nobody has one like me! (except you guys, of course!) Plus, it's a great boat and very low maintenance. If I bought a different brand, I would gain nothing but more debt, and I would lose the key things that make owning and running a Toyota cool. The only boat I would buy would be an SX.
