to buy a V-Drive Toyota in the Salt Lake City area
« on: August 21, 2006, 20:03:14 pm »
Any ideas on v-drive Epics for sale in the vicinity (~300 miles) of SLC?  I will pay fair value and provide a good home with plenty of Lake Powell time for the boat.  Thanks, Bob 801-208-1776

I will be putting my 01 Sx on the market this weekend in Denver area. 340hrs, tower, hot shower, heater, front and rear ballasts, awesome CD,stereos with tower-mounted Bose speakers, trampoline bimini, new spark plugs and new ACME 13x10 prop. Completely decked out, only thing it lacks is perfect pass. But with a 13x 10 prop which was recommended by ACME guy for high altutude driving with heavy load, it holds the speed so well, I never felt I needed it.It runs awesome. Hate to see it go, but my wife says I have to let it go with my bad back. I will put pictures up soon. NADA says $32000, but I will take around $29000 if someone can take a good care of my baby.

Have you put the boat in our registry?

Can you give me some idea on your performance with the Acme prop - top speed, rpm's at WOT?

I assume the prop is a three blade.  Is that correct?

Sorry to hear you're selling.

where are you in the Denver area?  Which lake do you spend most of your time at?

Thanks for post the Brad.  Sounds like you have a nice boat.  I have had one call from a potential local seller since posting but he won't be willing to sell until a bit later this summer and is a bit conflicted about selling anyway because he likes the boat.  Let me see what turns up locally and then I will let you know if it makes sense to talk more on your boat.

I am also torn, and today reconsidering again. Festiv, I am the guy who spoke to you earlier about play-pen, does most of boarding at Chatefield 630am. With a new 3 blade 13x10 prop, I have not really measured the accurate top speed with gps yet, but I think you lose some. Since all I do is board and wakesurf, I have not paid much attention to top speed or WOT, but I can find out. But I think lower pitch really allows excellent speed holding with heavy-load.

I ended up buying a direct drive X22.  The boat had 300hrs and was very well maintained and has perferct pass and a customized ballast system and a great stereo.  This is a fun boat to board behind and the engine seems fantastic.  This site is a great resource and generated a lot of calls and boats to look at.

Thanks you all,
Bob

I'll keep an eye our for you on Chatfield, wakehead.  We have been doing a lot of hydrofoiling, so if you see someone behind a white black malibu riding a uni-chair, it's probably us.  Give us a shout...

Certainly, Festiv. I will look for you. Mine is blue and white with a trampolin bimini. I think I will try to keep it and see what happens in another year or so. My back is getting better, and wake surf is so much gentler on my body, The only problem is I suck at it, am not enjoying it as much. I keep thinking I will regret later on if I prematurely sell it.

Have you tried sky Skiing?? Much easier on the body.? A little bit of a learning curve but
definitely worth it.
I wakeboard when it's glassy water and Hydrofoil on anything else.

I agree.  I too was once a pretty good skier.  I still like to think I can make some nice turns.  Only problem is it doesn't last long.  I am spent after about 10-15 turns.  I can ride the Sky Ski forever.  And even though its like falling with an anchor strapped to your waste, its amazing how much softer water is at 20mph than at +30mph.  Same thing applies to wakeboading.
I am broke.
