Christmas Tree Lights on my Epic
« on: December 01, 2006, 18:56:51 pm »
OK guys, there is a boat parade on the Lake tomorrow.  The kids think it will be great. I was asked by our Marina to be in the parade with the Toyota.  Funny.  Anyhow, I thought I would get a power inverter and plug into cig lighter and try and run a strand or two of lights on the tower.  Could I power an inflatable Santa?  Am I going to blow / burn things up if I do this?

Sure not be a problem I'd just run the engine while doing it

Sorry - I can't help but I would love to see a pix of the Toyota in the parade-  with or without the lights---   I got a heater today and put it under the cover and I am running it on low.   Don't really know why, But I read it on a post so I figured I would be that guy that doesn't want his boat to get to cold, as well...

Just don't trip the breaker with too much load. I had an inverter plugged into the cig lighter and a couple things (including an air pump) plugged in and the load was too much. Just tripped the breaker and I had to reset it. No big deal. You just can't have too much power running off it.

One time I was running the big screen in the trailer park for "summer under the stars" movie night, and because we store our boat next to the cinderblocks, the extenshun cord from the regular generator wouldn't reach, so we plugged in the big screen to the cig lighter on the boat.  Long story short, the neighber threw a lit cigerette over her shoulder and, aiming for the spitoon, missed and hit the fuel tank on the weed wacker, so that was bad.  I knew I shoulda got the electric wacker, that fuel went up fast.  So next time I'll put the cooler under the tv stand so the lights don't go out.
