Texas Roundup
« on: March 20, 2007, 03:55:25 am »
Well, since everyone else is trying to work a roundup, maybe us central folks ought to!  Anyone up for a Lake Travis, Canyon Lake, Amistad Lake type experience?  I've never been to either of the first two, but hear they are nice (although kirk_tx kind of struck bottom there...literally!) Amistad, as always, is an awesome lake to hit up and it is huge!  It would be sweet to get about 4+ boats for some killer fun!  I'm sure K-town would be in....so that is 2 epics already!

What city is Amistad lake near.  I'm in KS, and was curious how long of a drive it would be.

Well I vote for Lake travis or possibly even another less well known lake like Lake Whitney.

Flyin, you will be glad to hear that the boat is all fixed up.  And it only tooke them 3 months to get the right prop to me.  I think I am gonna frame the old prop.

Count me in!  My vote would be Canyon lake.  It's pretty central to everyone, and I have wanted to check it out for a while.  Where is Lake Whitney?  I've heard Lake Travis gets crazy packed, but would be a great place for the night life.  As for timing, anyone got any ideas?

I think Canyon or Travis would be sweet also!  I'm pretty much game for anything though!  Since i've owned my boat, it has only been to amistad...so i'm ready to explore!  I think June'ish, that way it will be raging hot outside and the water will be warm....break....kirk, glad to see the twin is up and running again.  Lets make this trip happen, we didn't get to hang last time you were in Del Rio...plus we still owe you those beers....and i'm sure we will have PLENTY to drink.  I hit the lake w/ K-town the other day...the old knee is doing good I think!

Lake whitney is a litte farther for you guys.  Its just north of Waco, TX. Its by the town of Whitney, tx.  I have only been on it once but it is a great lake.  Big cliffs that everyone dives.  Travis is great too, but its almost impossible to board.  Like you said its real busy, but if we are going just to party I am down.  Now that you mention it K, I wanna change my vote to canyon, or whitney.    Although Lake Belton, outside of Belton, TX is a good lake that is pretty centrally located, too many worm jerkers though.

What is the record for the most toyotas at a roundup???

Flyin, keep that knee in shape.  Sounds like we got a big summer.
Oh and remember the offer is still open when you flyboys get up to DFW I will come get you and we can go out on the lakes up here....anytime.  I work a strange scheduale so I usually have time during the week.

We had six last year, but one guy had problems with a collapsed exhaust hose and didn't stay long.

Thats it...my mind is made up...we all have to do a boarding/party trip somewheres.  I'm getting amp'd about it right now!  I'll go wherever... as long as there are no worm jerkers..haha.

I am pumped too.
Maybe we should start a poll or something to vote for a lake.

Yeah, Dallas.
I ride most of the time at Lake Ray Hubbard.  By Rockwall.
Its about 10 minutes from me.  (I live just outside of downtown)

However, I get pretty adventurous with the boat and have pulled it all over the state to ride.
I also ride at lake Waco allot.

I can back Kirk up on this... He camped out at Amistad and even fed the local vermin right on his boat (only he didn't know it was happening, they just made their way to his food stash!)
