Anyone know a contact at Ameritrailer or whatever it's called?  I all but had the wheel fall off last night.  This is after having this trailer worked on about 15 times in the last 8 years...this has been dangerous 2 times now after greased, rebuilt, packed, and breaks numerous times...

Thanks,

Bill

Just a quick update:

Yes the number still works 407.892.1100  and Scott is still the guy in charge of the Epic Trailers.

I called him about a possible new trailer for my X22 direct drive.  Took a couple tries to get him - but he finally said they didn't have any more trailers for the direct drives but still had a couple bare frames for the V-drive(2).  That he would build for est. $3500.00

If anyone wants to have there trailer refurbished he said they could do the entire job i.e. sandblast, paint, brakes, lights... and he said that could come out to around est. $2500.00 depending on the shape of the trailer.

Couple things:  What's the difference in the trailers?  just the bunkers?

And if anyone is interested in doing a Refurb.  maybe we can get a couple guys together and see if they will offer a group discount.  Scott, implied that with the "slow down" in the economy the shop is getting a little slow and they could have the refurb job done in as little as 2 Weeks. Of course they are down in Florida near Orlando.  Which is like 18hr drive for me... So, it'd have to be a good deal...

Hope this helps -

Couldn't you get your trailer refurbished by a local trailer repair place and save the hassle?

I think I'd get a Boatmate with the oil bath bearings and make the bunks work if I were to spend the money.  I'm not impressed with either of my ameritrail trailers.

I've read some post about trailers and such but what would be the real process for getting a boatmate trailer for an epic?

Would you buy a used one or new?  Then would it be as simple as having a welder re-adjust the bunkers?  Any help would be great...
