emergency trailer brake
« on: May 17, 2008, 02:32:31 am »
I have a 2001 SX.  It has a DHM trailer with a telescopic, swing away tongue.  After I parked it, I hooked the E-cable to one of the other cables.  When I pulled out the swing away tongue, the cable was pulled tight.  I'm not sure how those things work, but do I need to reset something before I tow tomorrow so my trailer brakes won't be locked or can I go.  I don't want to smoke my brakes before I get out of town.

Sam,
I think you have a different trailer. The east coast boats have Ameratrail trailers, west coast boats may use other manufacturers of trailers. DHM Trailers does supply a lot of parts that fit the Ameratrail trailers, in fact the surge brake actuator may be the same. See if the pics in the maintenance docs of that part of the trailer look the same, if not google DHM trailers and dig around.
