Boat Hrs?
« on: July 07, 2008, 01:39:24 am »
My Epic is at 424 hrs.  It's a 2000 Epic 22, Just curious if I need to have anything specific looked at in the near future?  I keep up on the basic maintance but unknown if something specific needs checking.  Also, how many hrs are on others boats? I'm wondering if im high or average on my hours meter.

Great site,, thanks..

I'm not really sure what the average is.  I'm sitting around 350ish I think.  I may have the recommended service brochure in my boat glove box.  I will check to see next time I go out.  It may be in the maintenance section of our site.  Good luck.

You are averaging about 50 hours/year which sounds reasonable to me.
Don't be so humble, you're not that great.

The guys at PJ's wakeboard camp in Orlando had like 1500 Hours on their 99 by 01, but thats obviously a commercial application.

I would probably consider popping one of the upper timing belt inspection covers off at the 8/9 year mark just to check the timing belt for cracking and shine a light in there to see if it looks like the engine water pump has been leaking.

I would also replace the thermostat every 5 years or so just to be safe.
