Well... Looks like we will have water in the lake this year, so started the spring maintenance last week. I really don't look forward to doing it on the V-Drive. The E21 direct drive was sooo much easier! Anyway, seat out, bulkheads out, trunk bulkhead out, suck out oil, old filter out, new filter in, new water/fuel separator, check belt, clean spark arrestor, new oil in and all is well. Sorta thought since I put a new impeller in last year and only put 40 hours on boat, it should be ok, right? Left the boat and decided to put it back together later....Woke up next day and decided to go ahead and pull water pump and impeller while everything was all apart....Wow, glad I laid on my back upside down and did that! The 40 hr impeller was toast! 4 ribs tore down to less than a 1/4". Surprised it lasted through the warm up for oil extraction! It was not even 1 year old, less than 40 hours and already shot. I guess I got an old one off the shelf at the boat store! My only spring advice "REPLACE THE IMPELLER!"
