Wild swings in oil pressure on my SX22
« on: June 01, 2009, 17:26:08 pm »
My 2002 SX22 is having wild swings in the oil pressure.  It goes as low as 4 psi at idle up to 60 psi cruising but even at a constant RPM it will swing up and down 20 PSI or more.  Temp is staying the same so I'm thinking it's the sending unit not the oil pump.  Any ideas on how to trouble shoot?  The dealer here in Northern CA went out of business and no one else will work on the engine.

Thanks.

Did that for a few years.;D Run the extra power/ground wires and/or replace the sending unit. They've been known to go bad. Capt Rick can supply you with the part.

I vote on the sending unit also. I just changed mine out and the readings settled down a lot.
