1999 E22 prop. Acme 540 vs 209
« on: June 18, 2009, 13:40:51 pm »
I know this is a highly debated topic but I would like some input on a new prop for my 99E22.  From reading several of the past postings the biggest difference between the ACME 209 and 540 is one has four blades and one has three.  The are both very good all around props.  I am looking for an all around prop.  I have a group of friends that I take out skiing and barefooting and another group that will ride the wakeboard all day with the ballast full.  Has anybody used both of these props. and have some input.  Thank you!

You will burn a little  more gas with the 542 than the 540 but the hole shot of the 542 is fantastic. You only need 1/2 throttle for a slalom skier. I am sticking with the 540. The 540 prop does it all for me. I would suggest you use the 540 first and if you want more hole shot send it back and get the 542. Now remember these are for a 1" shaft and RH prop (boat backs left). But just call Acme with your shaft size and rotation and give them the dimensions as listed in the testing and they will fix you up. Remember to check your gear ratio also before you call.

Re: Love my new Acme Prop

Search Forum for above. Love my new Acme Prop. I tested a lot of props and posted the info on page 4 of the 5 pages.

Thank you for the response.  I went with the Acme 540, received it today.  I believe I will be happy with it.  Just wanted to let everyone know I was able to get the prop shipped new in box to my house for under 350.00.  I went with www.nettleprops.com.  I was able to find it at deltaprops.com for 350 shipped and then had nettleprops.com price match.
