boat pulls to the right
« on: April 28, 2004, 02:01:23 am »
Saw this post on Wakeworld. I'm going to do this to my rudder, I don't tow slalom skiers so I don't need the pull. Have any of you tried this?

Hey Pete, I saw that thread too.  But our Toyotas (mine, at least) don't have any pull to the right.  Not sure if this is different between the '99 (which I think you have) and my '01.

The pull that they are talking about is a hard pull, like if you let go of the steering wheel, the boat would start running in circles. The old Centurion we used to run around in did this pretty bad.

So anyway, I don't think our Toyotas "pull". I know mine doesn't.

Mine pulls hard to the right, enough to piss me off. I am going to do this.

Not yet, no time. My boat doesn't pull that hard, but enough to notice. I guess that I'm satisfied with the explanation that it pulls rt on purpose to take up all the backlash (slop) in the steering system for hardcore slalom wankers (er.. enthusiasts!)  :o

No offense to slalom guys, I just don't understand why they get pissed off at me when there's no clean water at 2pm on Sunday. Get out there at 8am if you want glass! I do.
