Thanks for the feedback. I'm really not up for the blog thread idea, but I do want to esplain what I was thinking so you don't think I'm a total fruit bat.
I guess what I'm saying is that I enjoy hearing everything Pete does to his boat and to his trailer, and maybe his tow vehicle (especially if it's a Toyota). Same goes with Cal's boat, trailer and truck. In fact, at some time or another, I know that any single one of us could provide the missing link (yes, even me.) Some of the real veterans re-Pete, davidgree, etc., have some killer stories for sure.
I usually record stuff that I do to the boat, and a lot of those times I'm thinking two things at the same time:
1) it's good to record this stuff, because I know I'll forget the specifics, and because it may fill in a blank for someone else or keep them from repeating a mistake I made. Sometimes the little details are important.
2) when I'm speculating or recounting stuff in detail, I can't help but think most of you guys couldn't care less.
The idea of each of us having blog threads was to keep most of our personal boat endeavors in our own threads. Cal has some problems with a rough idle, reviews the archives, takes action and then posts to his blog thread to let us know what he did and how it turned out. Cal installs Pete's Perfect Pass, and makes a post about it. He finds a great way to remove scratches, he posts a 'removing scratches' thread. Sweet. Maybe Pete even posts the method in the 'how to' section.
Maybe the two biggest drivers are 1) I want to hear everybody's Epic life stories, and 2) I don't want people thinking "friggin Derek likes hearing himself speak". If we see that Epicrider makes a post to his blog, maybe we do or do not read it right away. However, if he posts a "I installed a supercharger" thread, we stop everything.
No biggie, though, I was more bouncing it off of you guys than trying to make a case. It was a thought that struck, and we all know that can at times be dangerous.
