Interesting reading on Wakeworld
« on: May 20, 2004, 17:58:24 pm »
Here is the link:

http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/1/170413.html?1085070870

The discussion is over big air pics and whether they are real. Somebody came out and pulled a pic of Rob Reid behind an E/X22 from an early '99 issue of wakeboarding mag.  According to the accompanying article, he is supposedly 20 feet up on a triple-up... (I vote more like 13-15', but anyway...)

Scroll to the near-bottom for the Epic mention, first posted by Kristian Coleman (with some incorrect info).

And my $.02 about their pathetic argument, I don't think there is a chance in hell that the Chad Sharpe pic is real. Just look at where the photographer is sitting in the boat (use the wake as comparison), then look at the angle the rope comes in from.

Those wakeworld kids are going crazy arguing over the pic, I'm not stooping to their level. Not on their site, anyway...just on this one!

HAH, that's funny! If you want to visit a cool wakeboarding site where people are real and make fun of wakeboarder.com and wakeworld (sometimes) go to www.wakeboardatlanta.com. Bunch of jokers there, I know some of them. Good people. It's another good site to add to your daily list of sites you visit when you are not doing what you are being paid to do!

I'll bite. Everybody at the campground this weekend was jealous of my Toyota. It was funny. They were running like 1.5+ tanks a day in their Maristar's and Tige's, I went through 3/4 of a tank for the whole weekend.  :)

I love my Toyota.

Looks like these gas prices and the long weekend of hefty gas bills has a few of the wakeworlders curious.

Funny.  There are two posts going now.

Thing is, you never know when the audience will turn ugly and resume the "they're underpowered, they didn't know the industry, they're not a real wakeboard boat, there are so few out there that they're not worth talking about, etc., etc."

Haters for the most part, but I'm sure they get sick of us "Toyotas rule" dudes spouting off at every opportunity.

Very true, but it doesn't matter what kind of boat we have, there will always be haters.  I probably spout more than I should, completely agree with that. But I get excited... I know I have a problem. :)  I do get tired of hearing myself talk.  Plus, I probably should get back to work.
