OOPS my computer crashed so here is the rest of the story---2001 Epic x22--First time out this year and nothing went right
The first thing is that I have a major water leak coming in from the driveshaft packing --I had a new driveshaft installed two years ago along with the driveshaft rope but they reused the rubber radiator like hose to find theat the water is leaking at the other end from the turn nut---I tightened up the four hose clamps on that driveshaft rubber black radiator hose to find the it stopped leaking one time but the next day the same large water leak returned---Should I take it in to a marine (the marine that replaced the driveshaft is out of business) and have the replace black radiator like hose?? #2 started to notice that the speedo is not working and my digital display reads error and recommend to have service 12.0?? I thought I would check under the dash for connectors/speedo pick up hoses to find when pulling off from the under dash computer there was water leaking out it?? I drained from the computer and hoses--reattached--started the boat in hoist to see if the guages would work to find digital display out/multi function guage not reading correctly---fuel tank was full but reads 1/2 and at idle the I was wiggling the wiring under the dash to fine engine idle flared up and I turned off the key??I decided to take boat out to see if speedo would work--Started and speedo started to work to about 20 mph--horn sounded and all guages stopped working all together. I shut down the boat and even turned off the kill switch for power under engine hood--thinking it may reset the computer--restarted boat and then the engine decided to go full blast 3 out of 4 start ups!!--I decided to swim boat into hoist. Unsure about the water leak that could still be if I ran it or if the boat would accelerate I decided to put my tail between my wakes and got towed into the boat launch------Where do I go from here???
