Went out to the river yesterday and after about 2 1/2 hours the temp gauge shot to about 220. I always check my gauges fairly regularly, I noticed early that my voltage meter was bouncing up and down betwen 6-14, but the temp was steady at 160. Also I thinkI might of had my blower on for a long period of time. The impeller was brand new this year. I have been out about eight times this year, about 30 hrs. When I notice the spike, I shut the engine down immediately, and after an hour the engine cooled down to 160. The outside temp was around 100 and the river water was in the mid 80's. Thankfully a friendly boater pulled us back to the dock. While I had the boat on the trailer in the water I stared the engine it, but the gauge started to rise again after about 45 seconds. I have looked at the other post and accept for the impeller being new all the other options seem plausable. Should I start with the impeller?
