Epic love fest, if you ask me.

I'm getting bummed by having to store the boat outside. It gets friggin hot out here, and even with the canvas cover and a big tarp over that, the vinyl still gets super hot and dust does get in. Then there's the issue of scratches, little rips, matted carpet, etc. Just can't keep the thing perfect. We've aged it way more in the past year than the Edens did over the first three.

Those dudes had no kids, no wives, no big trips, the launch ramp was one mile from their storage facility garage, and they did not dink with the boat at all.

Wahhh....

Hey, it sure would be better at Havasu this weekend if the epicmarine dudes were there with me :-)

Oh yeah, Cal - could you post more pics of them 'beer-drinking hotties'?

New pics from SoCal coming...and this time with the tow vehicle too. Is everybody ready for an assault on 'pictures of your boats and rigs or something'?

Hey Brent, since you gained a couple hundred RPM, is your WOT now right at 6,000?

I know that my 13x13 is too much prop by a couple hundred RPM, and was looking back at davidgree's prop (13x13.5). His boat 'barely hits 40' and is 'underpowered'. Wonder what his WOT RPM is with that prop.

Remember that the correct prop for any standard application is for the engine to just make redline at full speed. I only make like 5700-5800 in a 6000 RPM engine. Too much prop. I'd expect davidgree to only get like 5600, and blindside to be flirting with the rev-limiter.

It's okay to under-prop for low-end performance, you just have to be careful during speed runs and might burn more gas.

Of course a new shorter-pitch prop and a little higher gas bill is still a lot cheaper than a supercharger!!!!

I'll post hottie pics when the weather warms up again.  I think my prop size is a 13x13 4-blade (bronze, I think).   I could be wrong.  My top speed is 44 mph, and the RPM's exceed 6000 (just a hair over), to like 6050 or so.  So I probably have the right size, I guess...

Ya, with the new prop I hit the rev limiter at 40.5 MPH and about 5850-5900 RPM if i remember correctly.

Today I just about completed the new ballast system for my fat seat.  So now I'll have the factory trunk ballas system and the rear 1200 lb fat seat ballast.  It's alot like pete's except that I ran the fill and drain hose underneath into the trunk and then back forward to the side panels.  So when you wanna hook up the fat seat you reach in the side panels and pull out the hose and plug it in and your ready to go.  Then I am going to put a T and a valve in the hose at the side panels and run  hoses on up to the nose and under the front seats for my sack in the front.  :)

I'll take pics tomorow and post.

Can't wait to try it out on Saturday and Sunday

That's cool to hear about that prop. I might have to try one. Don't forget, it's easy to install extra fittings in sacks and seats. They never seem to be in the right place. I put one in the back bottom middle of my fat seat and ran the hose right thrrough the bilge to a pump. I had to notch the floor panel.

With my cutter 13x13.5 factory prop ss.  the wot is less then 6000. probably 5800.  Check your speed with a gps as the speedos may be off.  I am told that the factory 13x13.5 is also modified with extra cupping and slightly larger blades.

David,
You should think about changing props. If you get the RPM at WOT to the redline, say 6k even though these motors can rev to 7k without a problem, it means that you get more rpm at low speeds for more grunt. I would rather over prop and hit the rev limiter at WOT, that would give me lots more balls at low speed. I don't care about gas "knottage";) I also will never run at or near WOT for 99% of the time I drive the boat. Your needs may vary. I don't ever ever ever want to go barefooting.

We should find out how to change the rev limit in the computer.

im trying the 13 x 11.5 as well.  my dealer here in nc was calling to check price for me and he talked to the same guy at acme.  the guy said that he has shipped this prop for other toyotas in the past.  my dealer went ahead and ordered it so i could try it before i buy it??? go figure.

anyway, i will give my input when my boat is back in the water.  lost a serpentine belt this weekend so i must resolve that issue first.
