Engine temp light and buzzer on??
« on: May 26, 2011, 22:33:10 pm »
Hi Folks,  I have a light and buzzer on a 2002 SX that just started to go.  The engine can be just started and cold, or warmed up and it goes off at idle only.  If I give it any throttle, or even take it out of neutral, it turns the light and buzzer off.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Joel

I don't think it's the engine temperature. Could be the oil pressure sensor causing false alarms when your boat is at idle. My boat idles at about 700 rpm and I had the same problem. Try searching a thread for 'oil pressure sensor'. It's a relatively inexpensive fix.

Hope this helps.

I could be wrong but my buzzer never went off when the low oil pressure alarm came on.   I corrected the issue with a new sender
