So how many hours did you log this season?
« on: October 19, 2011, 06:16:04 am »
Since the summer is quickly coming to an end, I thought I'd check in with everyone and see how much you guys used your Epics this year.

My boat is now winterized.. I managed to log about 132 hours! I had a pretty hectic spring and didn't get it into my slip until the very end of June, so all of those hours were logged from July - Oct 9.

It's going to be a long winter... Can't wait to get back out on my Epic

This was my worst year for hours! Only 32 hours this season of which most of them were in August & September.

Total hours on the 1999 Toyota Epic 21 is 1,365. I bought this boat as a dealer demo with 40 hours on it in spring of 2001.

I've got everyone beat.... Zero hours this year.  Crazy year for me and never got out on the lake.  Going to make up for it next year and put a buttload of hours on her.  I did start it up and put fresh gas and stabil in it.

Decent year for us, about 50 hours. Have not winterized yet as we still cruise around watching the leaf colors.
 Now sitting at 410 hours.

I'd say around 20 hrs or so.  I've been working in Iraq/Afghanistan this year and only spent the 4th of July week on the lake.   Managed to hit a log about 1 mile from the dock, so I opted for a new prop, shaft, and rudder - all from Capt Rick.  (So lucky he's still around) A local Marina fixed it up, and winterized it in July after doing a lake test.   No fiberglass damage due to the 3M hull guard I put on a few years ago, its amazing.
Boating is more then a passion- is a lifestyle.

46 hours this past summer, was a rather late summer in British Columbia  was wet  and cool July so that reduced the number of hours on the lake a little bit,  will be better prepared for next year just installed heater and shower in the boat for those cooler days

Probably about 30-ish hours.  We didn't use it much in the early summer, until I could get the timing belt replaced.

I think I got about 3-6 hours total for the summer, we only made it out to the lake 3 times..... The start of the summer when the lakes down here in Texas had water in them, it was FREAKING WINDY!!! by the time the wind slowed down it was 9million degrees and the lakes were freaking low.....
1st trip out went well, got some good wakeboarding in but the lake was still pretty chilly......
Second trip out on the lake the fresh water pump ate the bearings - rebuilt it for $34  (one day Ill have time to write a how-to)....
3rd just a test drive to see if everything was ok after the the pump issue, the engine got pretty hot when the pump went :o, but everything seems ok...
Then we just didnt make it back out, home remodels, travel, work, school.... why doe life always have to get in the way of good boating!!?? ???

Did our usual 10-day rental at the lake -- around 30 hours. Would have done more, but no lakes around Houston have enough water to launch a boat.

We put about 30 on our Epic this Summer. As Denver mentioned, the Summer boating season seemed cut short here in North Texas with the crazy wind blowing for the first couple months. Then no water later in the seson and all ramps are closed in the area lakes. Sad seeing the pastures where the lake used to be. I think Lake Lavon is down 13-15 ft and Hubbard is down about 8-9.

Hey Westtx, what lakes you run in Houston area? I'm originally from Conroe, just north or there.

They say it's already not looking good for next year. Hopefully all the lakelevels will recover in the coming months.

Still going but I think today may have been the last ride of the season. The water is getting cold even with a wetsuit. Put about 90 on it this year
