Gas Tank Compartment
« on: December 13, 2011, 19:37:00 pm »
I am planning to replace the fuel and exhaust hoses this coming spring.

How does one access the area behind the rear seat on a E22 to get to the gas tank and under the tank?

 ???

you can gain access through the trunk. there are two boards held together by a small 4" wide center section. there are also two thumb knobs at the base of the panels. if its has been installed properly you will have to try to find the screws buried in the center section. if not the job is that much easier. may want to take off the trunk lid, you will be spending alot of time in there and it gives you a little more access. i broke one of my hinges because i was "less than careful"

hope this helps

that was on my old E22. also when you remove the thumb knobs pull the bottom towards you and the top will slide down and come out
