Speedometer losing signal/power
« on: May 29, 2012, 18:31:06 pm »
Good afternoon everyone!  I have owned my Epic S22 for about 2 years now and I love it!  I have run into little problems here and there, but nothing major (knock on wood).  I recently noticed that whenever my radio is on my speedometer cuts in and out like it is competing for power. I have re-run the ground and power supply directly from the radio to the battery but it has offered little resolve.  I was wondering if anyone has encountered the same problem.  Any help is greatly appreciated!  Thanks in advance!

I have had my S22 for 7 years now and couldn't be happier either!  Took the kids tubing and swimming Saturday and then Surfed for 5 hours on Sunday :) BTW, I put 450 in 1 side and 450 in the trunk and rode at 11.5 mph. We also had 5 adults in the boat and 1 surfing. The wake was HUGE.

Anyhow, I am guessing it's just a bad connection on the back of the display. Best solution is upgrade to Perfect Pass GPS and get rid of that display :)

It actually is the perfect pass gps.  It cuts in and out.  it cuts off then tries to come back on but never re-starts

check your connections, mine did the same thing or close if i hit a big roller it would restart.

just my 2 cents get rid of the add on power supply especially if it runs down the starboard side of the boat. it will interfere with CAN communication and cause gauge inaccuracies

I think I have figured it out.  I unhooked the radio and it seems to be working fine now.  I think I had too much power drawing off the hot wire.  Thanks!
