Additional ballast pump wiring.
« on: June 25, 2012, 18:20:53 pm »
another wiring question I have installed an additional ballast bag in the rear compartment of my SX.  I have wired the rule pumps into the existing harness for the in floor ballast systems.  I have tested and it seems to work fine.  Is there any concerns with overloading the system running two pumps off of the system designed for just one at the same time ?  It is convinient to fill the whole system and drain with one switch for now but I want to avoid wrecking soe part of this finicly electrical system

I know that the DECC that controls all the accessory, blower, etc can handle at least 10amps per channel because my Docking lights pull between 7.5 and 10amps peak driven from the DECC.  How many amps do the two pumps collectively require?  If you are really worried about it, put a relay between and use the signal to trigger the relay coil and drive the pumps off a 30amp bosh relay.
