Hey Teal, post the pics on photo bucket or another site like it and post a link here. I'm really curious to see what your talking about. Then you won't have to email everyone that wants to look at the pics and they can chime in with their observations.

Did you expoxy the propshaft to the white plastic housing?  Where do you see a 1/4 " gap?

'Shaft Repacking from the source ' in the maintenance section.  No epoxy just  'waxy rope'

Is the gap your seeing (where the water comes in) around the white nut that is surrounds the propshaft?

While on the river this year, peering down to check out how many drips were coming from the old shaft packing, I saw a piece of duct tape stuck to the white sealant that seals the shaft through-hull fitting to the hull. Pulled that tape off there thinking it was just trash. Wife was there, said "I think you put that on there for a reason." I didn't recall doing so, but sure enough had a little fountain of youth squirting out. Not much, but it does add up. Realized somewhere along the line I broke rule number one and have been going to the lake without a roll of duct tape. I bought some Attwood putty epoxy and will slap a glob on there next time we're out.
