Open the motor cover while the boat is in the water and see if the water is coming in where the drive shaft goes through the hull and if not there then open the the floor behind the motor cover and look where the rudder comes up through the floor.

Check the exhaust lines - mine had a split in them a few years ago below the water line and water was pouring in...

Propshaft, not crankshaft.  ;D  Crankshaft is inside the engine, propshaft connects the transmission to the prop.

Id check the packing where the propshaft goes through the hull, I know mine was leaking pretty badly until I replaced it ~2-3 years ago.  Now its much better, hardly get any water in the bilge (unless one of the drain cocks isnt fully sealed, check that too!).

Let us know what you find out.

Too funny none of us caught that. Check your freeze plugs also. It's amazing how much water will come through a small crack/hole when it's under pressure. At idle it might just be a small drip that is hardly notable.

On the side of the block above the alternator. It is a flat oval shaped piece of metal about 1.5" wide and 2" long with two small bolts holding it in place.

Not wanting to hijack your thread but.....took by 99 x22 out today and found water coming out of the bag of the block where it looks like two little 25cent piece sized caps came off, one on each side of the block aft. What are these? They look like they wre epoxied in place. Does anybody know if I can just epoxy these back in place? Thanks.

Hey Sierraglen i just opened up the 2 floorboards you are referring to as well, on my E22 and noticed the same epoxy on my propshaft opening . can you be more specific as to where you are seeing the epoxy? i saw it on my propshaft that comes up through the hull and so I put some epoxy because it looked like part of the epoxy came off and i saw a gap in the propeller shaft opening so i stuck the epoxy in it and i will wait till friday when I take it out to the lake to test if that was my problem good luck hope that helps my friend

Tealmobile, the caps came off of the back of the engine block, and I think they might be freeze plugs but I'm not sure. I will take a couple of photos this pm and post them, or if you prefer, I can pm them to you.

Change your impeller guys its not worth blowing up your engine from overheating due to a little rubber part costing 40-50$. but here are the pictures of the propshaft that i patched up by putting a sealant there where there was a small gap approximately the size of about 15 sheets of paper so probably like 1/4 inch all the way around the propshaft , is anybody else seeing this gap???? it looks like there was already an epoxy type patch there, is this stock??? does anybody know ? thanks for all the support guys you are all my #1 FANS ! OK IT WONT LET ME POST PICS I WILL TRY SOMEHOW I CAN EMAIL THEM TO ANYBODY HERES MY EMAIL CUPMOVEMENT@GMAIL.COM
