Bimini Question
« on: July 28, 2012, 23:17:18 pm »
When i bought my sx it came with a tramp top frame and fabric.  They are just not put together.  What type of rope is used to lace it to the frame?  How do you guys handle trailering with these tops?  I have not mounted it yet, but it seems like it would be a pain to remove it every time you use the boat.  We haul to the lake every weekend and im not sure i want to be taking that big thing off and on that much.  Thanks in advance for the help.

There's a PDF under the maintenance section that tells you how to thread the tramp top. I think the rope is 1/8" nylon. I trailer my x22 with the trampolice top in place all the time, including 8 hours of hiway driving a few time a year with no problems. Just make sure the rope is tied secure before you leave as today (for the first time) the fabric came loose on the hiway. Didn't lose it, but I haven't checked the rope for the past few years. The tramp top is very secure and will not get ripped off like a collapsible Bimini top. I only take mine off when storing for the winter.
