Boat cover suggestions?
« on: August 21, 2012, 17:37:29 pm »
Hi guys!  I really appreciate all the help I've received...info has been spot on.  I am needing to get a cover for my 1999 epic x22.  I am wanting a good heavy duty cover that velcros or some how goes around the tower support poles.  Do you guys have any suggestions as to what manufacturer would carry something like this? I know someone on here can stear me in the right direction.  Thanks in advance!

Try Evolution Covers. I think they make one for an SX, but not sure about the X22.

I confirmed that evolution covers Has a pattern for an sx 22, but I have an s22. Do they have identical top decks?  In other words will a cover for an '01 sx 22 fit my '01 s22?

A few years ago, I got one from Rankin in Seattle and it is excellent.  At that time, I would have gone with Evolution, but they didn't have the template for an E22 or X22.  Maybe they have one now?  If not, it would be really helpful if someone in the Seattle area with an E22 or X22 could take their boat to Evolution to be measured.  Rankin is no longer an option since they went out of business.

I believe Cory/Corey from Evolution used to work for Rankin.

I spoke with Cory 2 summers ago about getting a new cover made for my E22 and never got around to it.  Now my original cover from 2000 (a Rankin that's been great) is dead, all the straps are fraying badly, its faded, and even worse isnt waterproof at all so the boat gets soaked.

Cory told me that Rankin basically imploded in the mid 2000, he split off and started Covercraft (now Evolution Covers).  Another guy who worked for Rankin does a lot of Nautique and some MC covers down in Renton (IIRC).

Now that my Rankin is dead, Im going to get a tower early next spring then take it to Cory and have him build me a custom cover for my 99 E22 that I know will last me another 10+ years.
