depth finder inop
« on: July 21, 2004, 21:06:19 pm »
I'm working on a 2000 Epic 22s that does'nt give the current water depth. The screen just flashes 0.0 ft. and then will also flash Bad Status. I tried turning the main battery switch off for a few minutes, but this didn't work. I noticed while driving the boat the shallow water alarm flashed on the screen, but still it didn't show actual depth. I was also wondering if a alarm should sound when the shallow or deep alarms go off? All other systems seem to be operating fine.

Good to try the power cycle thing. Your next best bet would be to get in touch with Accuski or Toyota. Your syptoms don't sound like mine - I get no 'bad status'. Guess that yours is the computer.

You'll probably want to find as many of the depth-related interconnects as possible and then open, inspect, reseat them.
