I wouldn't let my 2001 S22 go for under $20k.  If you can get one for less, jump on it.  Mine is not for sale!!!
18 Seasons without a single problem.  This boat ROCKS!!

DENNIS and tenn162000 pretty much said it. Tenn16200 just hit the wrong button and posted his answer in the wrong topic, either way he's spot on. My 2 cents- first NADa only has low and average values no high. There is a statement at the bottom of the page talking about boats in excellent condition. I booked it and at $15k it only has one option? Just a bimini? No swim step , custom prop, covers, accessories? I highly doubt it. That stuff adds significant value to a boat. Like NADa states its a "guide". Just sold my sx and the "guide" was way off (Tenn nailed that one) . Like Dennis said for 15k you better jump on that or someone else will.

Tenn162000 post.
NADA on Epic doesn't matter.   They've sold for far more.   Only 165hrs - I doubt you could overpay.

It's 19000.00 that's why I wanted other opinions before we bought it... I'm that kind that has to think 100x that I'm making the right decision!!!

Initially, $19,000 sounds like a good price.  It all depends on condition and maintenence history.  Also, any saltwater history has a big chance of value impact.  You mentioned tears in the seats, so that causes a pause, my 2002 S22 has 300+ hours and uhpolstery has no tears, some fading but thats about it.  was it stored inside? outside? Is there a cover for it?  Doers it include the trailer?  Where has it been, is this the original owner?  Have you water tested it yet? lots of info that needs to be known.  There really is not a way for any of us to give you a "go ahead",  $19000.00 could be the steal of the year, or you just paid twice as much as you should have.  "Super low hours" does not mean a great boat, there are plenty of boats with low hours.  !2 years of age and how it was taken care of are huge considerations at this point...

Don't want to get involved, but if it is this boat:

http://www.boattrader.com/listing/2001-Toyota-S22-102038420

I think there is plenty of room for negotiation.  Aftermarket tower, sun bleached teak swim platform (I thought all S22 were fiberglass by 2001) Just a guess, but it looks like at least one of the wheel bearings on trailer is blowing grease all over.  Be sure to check for stress cracks on the hull around tower mounts. The foot print looks really small for what the tower is asked to do.  One wakeboard rack, and hung really high!?  It appears this boat has been outside alot, perhaps year round.  If it sat in water alot, look for blistering in jelcoat.  Have you driven it? Do all of the gauges work?  Get the VIN # and at least look up the build date and build accessory list, you maybe may even be able to locate previous ownership on this site, every boat has a story you just have to research it..

But then again, don't want to get involved....

hire a marine surveyor to look at the boat if your that unsure. if this is your first boat, at least have someone you know with years of boat ownership take a look. then test drive it with that person and put the boat through it's paces.
