Fuel Pump priming question
« on: June 01, 2013, 21:13:28 pm »
What are the proper procedures on priming the fuel pump. I see there is a round red switch on the aft of the engine that i can press in while the key is turned but not on. My question is how many times/how many seconds should i press this before starting the engine and how long should i wait before i start the engine after priming this switch? Whenever i press it i can hear the fuel injectors spraying fuel...so i know im doing something right. Any help?

I think the prime button is only for the case when the engine won't start due to a vapor lock condition in which case you would press it for a few seconds.  I've never had to use it on mine.
