ALL ACCESSORY BUTTONS INOP
« on: August 07, 2014, 22:37:26 pm »
This is a first for me.  While I was at the lake yesterday, when getting ready to take the boat out.  I pushed my nav lights button and nothing.  I pressed all the other buttons, bilge, horn , trunk light, etc. and nothing.  Earlier I had the bilge on and it was working fine.  Is there a fuse or breaker that may have blown or tripped under the dash?  Any ideas!!!

Try the harness connection. Mine was loose and it made the majority of controls inoperable. There are also fuses under the dash top left hand side. I can't see all the fuses going at one time though as they are each separate. I'm guessing a loose connection.

Than,ks for the reply ktdust.  None of the breakers tripped and all the connections at the harness look intact.  I will check the harness again.  It's strange since I used the bilge a few hours earlier and it worked just fine.  Everything else is working, just those damn buttons, no power.

There is a 30 amp fuse by the main electric switch, think this controls all accessory,  had one corroded replaced with new wire and fuse.

Turning the battery switch off then on, resets the DECC. Then unplug the white plug with the orange wires. Then push each button and see if the button turns to on. If it works then plug in harness, if it stops then you have a short in the accessory ( nav lights would be a good guess.

Is the decc mounted upside down, if it get water from the dash access hole it will short the DECC.

I would start be checking to see if you have power coming across the 21887 connections on the panel as this feeds all the other breakers...between the 20 amp breaker and the other acc. breakers. If power is then would check the opposite side of the switch and see if power is passing through them...then so on and so forth.  Not sure if all the acc have a central grounding point but if they do I would track that down if all else above works and see if you are getting a ground....takes both for the accessories to work.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I will try them when I get home.  That's why I love this site and our fellow boat owners.  We always try to help each other out.

Ended up being a simple fix.  My fuse off the battery was loose.  Everything working perfectly again.
