2001 S22 nav light flashing accessory buttons
« on: August 24, 2015, 22:39:53 pm »
I have a 2001 s22 owned it for 7 years now and it is time to address some inconvenience.  When nav lights are turned on within a few minutes the accessory buttons all start flashing red temp gage pegs out voltage gage reads low.  Button will not work nav lights will not turn off until I shut down turn off batteries and restart.  This has been the case from time I purchased it.  Also when filling ballast bags with pumps plugged in to 12volt plugs the same temp and voltage gage issue occurs.   Tried to fined info on this seems like there is some on it but new to playing on this sight any links or help would be appreciated.  All other aspects of this boat have been flawless.   Thinking of putting wakemakers ballast system in so I do not have to through pumps over the side anymore and want to have the electrical issue address before I spend money on ballast system.

I have the same problem with  my 2001 S22. Just started doing it. Cant. Most of my gauges started to blink and I replaced them. That solved most of the problems but the acc. Light switches still blink. Rick may have the fix.

Try this :

step one turn off battery switch'
2. Disconnect #1 and #2 wire ornage wire at DECC
3. Disconnect #9 and put #1 wire on it .
4. Disconect #10 and put #2 wire on it.
5. Remove label move to 4 connector on bottom.

If the lights still blink order a 6 Button switch
MGA0011916   SwitchPanel,6Button,00,01,02MY,TopPosition1To6,NotLabeled,w/Bezel      82.42    $15.00 shipping

Do not use the button it causes the relays to lock.

Capt Rick

Thanks, i'll do the steps you outlined.

I just installed  a new 6 button and 4 button switches. The main switch on the upper left, when turned on, goes dark in about 30 seconds. Then the temp goes to 204 and the fuel goes to full. ( that gauge is new also) I shut off the ignition and back on and the nav/ lights can be turned on again.( only for the 30 seconds). When turning on the blower and the upper left switch go dark, the blower keeps blowing until I shut off the ignition and turn it back on again. The horn did the same thing. Kept going until I shut the ignition off.

Do I need a DECC module?

I'll try to change the wire locations and see if that works.

Thanks, Richard Dilday

Any time a relay stays connected may be an indication the relay is bad, or the item like a light has a short.

You can send the DECC with the orange wire and the two buttons sets with label covers too  to me I can try to test and reprogram it.
