I tested the new bracket, it must have been close to the original because I got exactly the same results, 36.3 @ 5650 rpm, paddle wheel reading.

I was also successful in hooking up the RPM input to the PP. It was under the dash in the engine harness. I took a pic. That was the last detail, PP is a done deal.

I already made a bracket and it works great, and I have mounted everything the same as you did.  The only thing I can not figure out is what tac wire to use?? So I need some much needed advice there, also my system over/under corrects the speed so what are your KDW and NN values.  I messed with it for a while and got a .3-.4mph variation without a rider but with about 2/3 of the ballast I normally run.

You guys are killing me. This afternoon, summer broke in SoCal. This means good winter glass cuz the PWCs go into hibernation.

So my new wish list is:

   1) board racks that'll fit with the bimini
   2) Perfect pass
   3) Auto ballast for the v-drive compartments
   4) Make a trampoline top (want it bigger than stock)

Truthfully, I probably won't get any of this stuff prior to next summer, but that's what wish lists are for, right?

This is the main engine harness, the wire colors are purple/black stripe, purple/white stripe, lt blue, tan, yellow with red stripe, brown and GREY (no stripe) I pulled the grey wire out of the bundle a bit here, the colors look wierd in this pic.

Tap into the grey wire, that's the 2PPR tach signal from the engine.

As you can see, it is located under the dash by the breaker box.

I am still tweaking the NN and KDW, but right now I have NN at 140 and KDW at 68. How closely it holds speed depends on a lot of things, chop, how heavy the rider is and how hard they pull, whether you're turning or not, amount of ballast.

I get speed control within .1 mile an hour when not pulling a rider, and control +/- .3 when pulling an rider under typical conditions with a sack in the trunk and one in the walkthrough. The system corrects as the rider cuts, so the speed at the time the rider hits the wake is usually exactly at the setpoint. It overshoots a bit when the rider is in the air, and corrects after the rider lands.

To be honest, I got tired of playing with the numbers and have just been riding a lot more. It doesn't matter who's driving, I have been letting my 11 yo pull me.

I'd rather ride behind and IO with PP than an Xstar with a typical driver.

Thanks alot!  I hope you gets lots more riding in with your Perfect Pass.  I am calling it quits the water in Northern Minnesota is cold and the wind has been relentless, but not without one last ride with the PP.

oh yea....thanks much

I installed on a 99 X22.  As far as pics on the install I can't get them right now I just hauled her into storage.  Essentially I did the exact same install.  The only variation is the placement of the paddlewheel.  I placed it 6 or 7 inch. drivers side of the drain and 10 inches down.  It was just eaisier to place it there.  I did hook up the tac wire and it does work so thank you on that one. Also, I swapped out the rigt speedo gague with the Perfect Pass gauge.  So I guess I will have to wait till spring to fine tune the system which is a bummer.

Thanks for the info. I was curious to see if a Vdrive would be the same, I think it would be just turned around.

One thing that is cool now is that the shifter, which used to be too stiff, works great with PP because I don't have to keep my hand on it. Thinking about that and how nice the Morse shifter on my friends boat feels, I may upgrade to a Morse MV2. I am sure it has an adjustable throttle throw, so I may be able to recover some of the throttle motion I lost with the PP bracket.

Don't worry about pics, I am sure it looks nice but I am really curious to see a Vdrive install.  Anyone? ...Bueller?
