Engine paint

I am in the process of a motor swap. Is it necessary to paint the block and heads to prevent corrosion?  I would prefer to leave the raw aluminum.

I would recommend it. Use the green zinc phosphate primer. The red lead or whatever primer it was they used on our engines didn't really bond to the aluminum
